Wi-Fi Router setup using Nighthawk Wi-Fi App

  • Download Nighthawk Wi-Fi App on your mobile device, from Apple App Store or Google play store in case of Android devices.
  • Connect Nighthawk Router to power supply, connect External antennas if any, disconnect old Wireless Router.
  • Connect Ethernet cable provided with Router box, from Internet service provider Modem to Nighthawk wireless Router.
  • Reboot Router and ISP Modem, wait for the lights to be solid Green or White on Internet Modem and Nighthawk Router.
  • Connect your Mobile Device with Router Wireless Network SSID. The default Wireless Network name and Wi-Fi Network key password are mentioned on the Router label itself.
  • Launch Nighthawk Wifi App, Create Account and then click on Add a Device option.
  • Select your Wireless Router, Nighthawk mobile app will run a setup wizard to complete the initial configuration process of Router.
  • Customize your Wireless Network Name SSID and Wireless Password as per your choice.
  • Create a Strong Admin password and select security questions of your choice for Administration login of Router dashboard GUI page.
  • Reconnect your mobile device with New Network name SSID and Wireless password, and then complete the setup process of Nighthawk Router by registering the product.

Make Sure Nighthawk Wireless Router firmware is up-to-date. Users can select the Auto Firmware Update option, so that Nighthawk Router firmware gets updated automatically, whenever it is availeble.

Nighthawk Wi-Fi Router setup via Web Browser Method

Users can configure Nighthawk Wi-Fi Routers via Web browser method also in case they don’t have any compatible smartphone for Nighthawk Wi-Fi App via Laptop/PC itself. To Configure Nighthawk Router via Web Browser users can refer to below mentioned configuration steps:

  • Power on Nighthawk Wireless Router and connect External Antennas if Any.
  • Connect Power adapter and Supply to Nighthawk Router, Disconnect old Wi-Fi Router if any.
  • Connect an Ethernet Cable from Internet Provider Modem to your Nighthawk Wi-Fi Router.
  • Reboot Nighthawk Wi-Fi Router and ISP Provided Modem, Wait for the lights to be stable Green or White as per model, on Modem and Router.
  • Connect your Laptop or PC, with Ethernet Cable from LAN Slot of Router, or you can also make Wireless Connection from Nighthawk.
  • For Wireless Setup, Users can check Default SSID and Wi-Fi Password of Router from the Nighthawk Router label itself.
  • Open Network Settings on your PC/Laptop, and Under Wi-Fi, Connect your Device with Router SSID and enter Default wireless password.
  • Launch a Web Browser, and type http://192.168.1.1 to access the Nighthawk GUI Dashboard page. Alternatively users can use routerlogin.net or routerlogin.com web address to access Nighthawk Dashboard interface page.
  • Quick Setup Screen will appear, select yes on terms and conditions page.
  • Quick Setup Wizard will detect the type of Internet Connection as per your Internet company, Select DHCP, Static, PPPoE connection method as per your ISP Modem.
  • Customize your Wireless Network name SSID and Wireless Password, alternatively you can skip this Step.
  • After completion of initial setup process, and Firmware update check, Router will reboot once to apply new Firmware changes.

    How to Configure Wireless Router in Access Point Mode:

    Wireless RAX and BE Series Nighthawk Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 Technology Routers can be set up in Access Point Mode also. To Configure Nighthawk Router in access point mode, Connect Ethernet Cable from ISP Modem to Internet WAN Port of Nighthawk Router. Open web browser from device connected with Nighthawk Wifi Router Wired or Wirelessly. Type http://192.168.1.1 in address bar of the Browser, Enter login username and password, default username is admin and login password is password, all characters are case sensitive, Router GUI Screen will appear. Navigate to Advanced Option, then click on Administration option, Select Operation Mode option, Select Access Point Mode option, then click save and apply. Nighthawk Router will reboot once to apply changes. Now, Wireless Router will have a Default IP address as assigned by the main Host Router.
